Models Affected:
911 Carrera 2/4, from model year 1989 (K) 911 turbo, from model year 1991 (M)
Concern:
Clutch does not disengage fully. Clutch pedal adjustment procedure.
General Information:
Some preconditions for proper clutch operation are:
No leaks in the hydraulic system. Properly bled hydraulic system. Properly adjusted pedal servo spring. Pedal return to stop position. Correct pedal
travel adjustment on floor plate. Original pedal linkage.
Repair Information:
The following work steps should be performed first to avoid unnecessary clutch component replacement
1.
Checking pedal rest position (Pedal return force)
Pull back pedal to stop position with at least 3ON (7 ft lbs.) (use spring scale). Pedal should not move back when pulling. If pedal moves back,
pedal return force is insufficient and servo spring tension must be adjusted.
