Ball Joint: Service and Repair
1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove wheel and drive out stud with a suitable hammer and drift.
3.
Remove cotter pin and, using tool P280b, the four point nut.
4.
Coat stud with multi-purpose grease and insert into position. Check that retaining nut is in front as seen from driving direction and notch in
stud points toward wheel spindle.
5.
Seat stud with light hammer prior to tightening retaining nut.
6.
Torque locknut to 15.9 ft.lbs. (2.2 mkp.).
