12 mm allen socket

Work Procedure:

Engine

Install the new dipstick.

Adjust engine oil level to match the new dipstick. (if necessary, drain off up to 0.5 liters of oil)

Replace drain plug sealing ring and torque drain plug to 50 Nm (37 ftlbs.).

Instrument Cluster (recalibrating the oil level calculation) Software version 13.2 or higher is necessary.

2.1

Connect the PST2 to the diagnostic socket; switch on the PSJ2 and the ignition.

2.2

When the PST2 is ready, select vehicle type and start the automatic control module search.

2.4

In the menu "Control modules" select DME.

In the function selection menu select "Vehicle data".

Scroll down with the cursor key to "Order type". If the order type is not 6 digits, edit the order type with the "F7" key. Order type must be as
follows:

Coupe Order type 996110

Targa Order type 996210

Cabriolet Order type

996310

Store correct order type by pressing the "F7" key.

Scroll down with the cursor key to "Engine number". If the engine number is not 8 digits, edit the engine number with the "F7" key.

NOTE: 

Engine number must be 8 digits i.e. 66211804. Store correct engine number using the "F7" key.

Return to the start menu using the "ESC" key, select the vehicle type and start the automatic control module search again.

In the menu "Control units", select "Instrument cluster"

In the function selection menu, select "Coding".
The characteristic that is currently stored in the instrument cluster is displayed under "Oil level characteristics" (display "Old oil level
characteristics"). If "New oil level characteristics" is displayed, the characteristics in the instrument cluster have already been programmed.
In this case return to the Start menu using the "ESC" key.

2.10 Select "Oil level characteristics" and start the function by pressing ">>".

2.11 The following information appears in the PST2: "The new oil level characteristics may only be used in combination with the new oil

dipstick. Continue with the >>" key.

2.12 Select "New oil level characteristics" and change the coding with the "F8" key. After coding has been successfully completed, "New oil

level characteristics" is displayed in the PST2.

2.13 Return to the Start menu using the "ESC" key, switch off the PST2 and disconnect from the diagnostic socket.
