3. Unscrew both M6 pan-head screws (hexagon socket a/f 5) -Item 2 in the previous Figure- of the valve holder and remove the holder with the

screws -B-.

4. Carefully pull the hydraulic valve with retainer plate -3- out of the cylinder head cover. Make sure that the front spring does not remain in the

cylinder head. Observe installation position of the hydraulic valve (position of the cable plug connection).

NOTE:  Handle the hydraulic valve with care;  do not turn it at the valve tip or at the plug connection.

Installing Hydraulic Valve For Valve Lift Adjustment

NOTE:  Always replace O-ring of the hydraulic valve and retainer plate with integral seal.

1. Before installation, coat the O-ring and the retainer plate seal with engine oil. Then carefully fit the hydraulic valve with retainer plate into the

cylinder head cover (refer to the removal description for the installation position).

2. Fit both M6 pan-head screws (hexagon socket a/f 5) complete with holder -B- on the valve and tighten the screws.

Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

3. Push on the cable plug again. Make sure that the plug audibly engages.
4. Fit the side shield on the respective side of the engine. Put on and tighten the two M6 hexagon-head bolts for this purpose.
