2. Remove tailpipe. To do this, unscrew the hexagon nut of the fastening clamp, spread the clamp and completely remove tailpipe.

3. Undo clamping sleeve to the catalytic converter. To do this, undo the two hexagon nuts and push the clamping sleeve toward the catalytic

converter (if corroded, treat with penetrating oil or heat). Then pull off the sleeve.

4. Remove muffler. To do this, unscrew the three M8 hexagon-head bolts and lift out the muffler toward the wheel hub. Suitable tool: commercially

available 3/8 inch ratchet wrench with long extension, joint and socket wrench insert (a/f 13).

Note! Replace clamping sleeve. Apply a light coating of high temperature grease on the sleeve before installation to facilitate fitting.

1. Fit new clamping sleeve. To do this, slide the clamping sleeve onto the catalytic-converter pipe.
