Clutch Pedal Does Not Fully Reach Its Original Position

Concerns: 
Clutch hydraulic system

Situation:
After pressing the clutch, the clutch pedal is slow to come back up and does not fully reach its original position.

This is caused by air in the hydraulic system. 

The following procedure applies in the event of a complaint:

Work Procedure: 

1.

Vehicles from model year 99(X) to 03(3): --> Step 2 

Vehicles from model year 04(4): --> Step 3

If Step 2 or Step 3 has already been carried out: --> Step 4

Check that the circlip in the clutch pipeline is installed in the groove for the plug-in couplings according to instructions in --> Technical
Information '300100 Clutch pedal sticks' (No. 2/03).

To do this, perform a visual check on the plug-in coupling installed in the left plenem panel in the body front Section.

If circlip is installed correctly: --> Step 3

If circlip is not installed correctly: Install the circlips according to instrections in --> Technical Information '300100 Clutch pedal sticks' (No.
2/03).

Note

After installing the circlips, bleed the hydraulic system according to the revised instructions in the Workshop Manual, --> see Preliminary
information --> Workshop Manual '30007 Bleeding the clutch system'.

End of remedial action.

Bleed the hydraulic system according to the revised instructions in the Workshop Manual, see Preliminary information Workshop Manual '30007
Bleeding the clutch system'.

End of remedial action.
