Installing short drive shaft flange

Information: 
Protect drive shafts against mechanical damage (e.g. with a rubber hose that has been cut open).

Installing short drive shaft flange

1. Install short drive shaft flange.
1.1.

Check halfshaft flange for burrs and sharp edges on the transmission end of the shaft -arrow- and deburr if necessary.

1.2.

Fit short drive shaft flange -1- and drive into place by tapping lightly with a hammer (rubber hammer).

Subsequent work

1. Install right drive shaft.
2. Check transmission oil level in the final drive and top up if necessary.
3. Install underbody panelling.
4. Install rear right wheel.

Preliminary work

1. Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
