911 Turbo AWD F6-3600cc 3.6L SOHC Twin Turbo (1997)
1. Remove sealing ring for input shaft, refer to Input Shaft Seal/Service and Repair.
2. Partially disassemble transmission (refer to Transmission Major Assemblies).
3. Shift transmission to neutral and remove gear housing.
4. Remove shift rod 5/6.

When doing so, do not lose intermediate lock (4).

Drive out roll pins for shift fork 3/4.

When doing so, it is important to hold at the shift fork using a suitable tool.
6. Pull out shift rod for 3rd and 4th gears.
7. Remove short lock (refer to No. 2 in illustration with NOTE above).
8. Unscrew fastening screw for oil pan and tie the pan in place.
9. Undo clamping plate fastener and pull out the gear set with clamping plate only far enough to permit removal of the straight pins locking the shift
rod.
