10. Turn deflection lever as far as it will go in the shift gate for 3rd gear, and remove shift fork for the 3rd and 4th gears.
Installation
1. Insert shift fork for 3rd and 4th gears in the correct position.

To do this, turn the deflection lever as far as it will go in the shift gate for 3rd gear.
2. Fit intermediate lock (No. 4 in illustration with NOTE above) with viscous grease in shift rod 5/6, and install shift rod in the correct position.
NOTE: Do not lose the intermediate lock.
3. Insert gear lock for shift rod 5/6 and secure with straight pin.
4. Fit short lock (Figure 03398, No. 2) and install shift rod 3/4.
5. Fit gear lock for shift rod 3/4 and secure with straight pin.
6. Place complete gear set in installation position and fasten according to specifications.
NOTE:

The shift rods must not be moved beyond the neutral or gear lock-in positions when the gear set is inserted.

Otherwise, locks could fall out unnoticed.
7. Pin shift fork 3/4.

When doing so, it is important to hold at the shift fork using a suitable tool.
8. Fasten oil pan on the clamping plate with a new screw.
9. Assemble the transmission.
10. Install sealing ring for input shaft.
11. Shift through all gears as a check.

It must be possible to engage all gears without sticking.
12. Tightening torques, refer to Specifications/Mechanical.
