Lubricating convertible-top compartment lid

Refer to Convertible top in service position, Refer to Removing and installing trim panel for convertible top rest

1. Lubricate latching hook -1- on hinge for convertible-top compartment lid at the left and right with Krytox GPL.

Lubricate gate link -2- on hinge for convertible-top compartment lid at the left and right with Castrol Optitemp LG2.

Lubricate driver -3- on hinge for convertible-top compartment lid at the left and right with Castrol Optitemp LG 2.

Lubricate locking hook -4- with Krytox GPL.

Lubricating windstop

1. Carefully press out the locking handle -1- with a screwdriver.

Lubricate locking pins -2- on windstop at the left and right with Krytox GPL.

Reworking gate guide in latching hook of hardtop latch

1. Pull off cover of locking lever for the hardtop latch. Refer to Removing and installing hardtop.

INFORMATION:  When the hardtop is installed, Krytox GPL205 grease can drip when greasing the guide. The endangered areas of the instrument
panel and centre console must be properly covered with a cloth, for example.

2. Use a (small) paintbrush to coat the sides of the contact area of the guide pin and latching hook with grease -1-.
