The lifting function of the removable roof was changed to a new system. Procedure for operating the new lifting roof does not differ in comparison with
the old version.

Lifting Roof Drive

The entire drive unit is mounted on a console. The console is bolted on the left rear side wall of the luggage compartment with 3 bolts and rubber
mounts.
The drive unit is protected by a cover plate to avoid damage from sliding loads in the rear compartment.

Located on the face of the console:

Electric motor with gearbox

Microswitches for "roof locking" position.

Relays for electric motor

Wire harness with relay sockets

Located on back of console:

Pinion housing

Microswitches for "roof open" position

Drag arm

Pivoting arm

Installation Note:

After removing mounting bolts, the console can be swung away so that the back is then accessible for repairs or replacements.
