The spring locks for the brake pad retaining pins have been changed from a single wire lock to separate locks for each retaining pin (arrow). The
retaining pins are also longer to accommodate a modified retaining spring for the pad wear sensor harness.
These new type parts can be installed on earlier cars and are found in the following part kits:

944 351 952 01 Brake parts kit - front axle 944 352 952 00 Brake parts kit - rear axle

The above mentioned parts are installed in production as of:

May 21, 1987 - On front axle October 22, 1987 - On rear axle
