Install retaining pins and cross spring.

Press brake pad wear indicator warning contact into inner pad backplate, if equipped.

15.

Install retaining pin spring locks, if equipped. Before moving vehicle, depress brake pedal several times to properly position caliper piston.

    If brake pads are going to be reused, mark pads for installation. Do not interchange brake pads from outboard to inboard or from one wheel
to other.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Raise and support vehicle.

3.

Remove tire and wheel assembly.

4.

Compress, then remove cross spring.

5.

Disconnect wear indicator electrical connector, then pull indicator from brake pad backing plate.

6.

Using a suitable tool, remove brake pads from caliper(s).

Replace worn and/or cracked brake pads, as necessary. Always replace all four brake pads on one axle side. Do not replace only one brake
pad.

8.

Using a suitable tool, push brake pad into position. In order to prevent brake fluid reservoir from overflowing. Siphon some brake fluid
from reservoir.

9.

Clean brake pad bearing and sliding surfaces in brake calipers with methylated spirits and a suitable brush. Never use solvents containing
mineral oils, or sharp edged metal tools. Brake pad recess play should be .015-.023 inch (.4-.6 mm).

10.

Check position of larger brake pistons in front fixed calipers. The edges of the shoulder on the piston must be parallel to the sliding surfaces of the
brake lining. The shoulder (offset surface) must face the brake disc inlet.
