Remove starter and lock engine flywheel using tool 9206.

4.

Remove camshaft housing and spark plugs.

5.

Pressurize cylinder with approximately 6 bar using suitable tool, e.g. VW 653/3.

Remove valve springs using tools 2036 and VW 541/1 (Figure 2).

Pull off valve stem seals with tool 9237 (Figure 3).

Installing New Seals

1.

Seal and guide must be cleaned in the cementing area to remove all grease, oil and dirt. Use acetone or other suitable cleaning solutions.
