1.1 General information

The consistently high Porsche quality level is assured for body painting through the use of the most modern technologies combined with high-quality 
paint materials and continuous, extensive tests.

This quality level is also reflected in the long-term warranty because Porsche can offer a 3-year warranty on paint finishes as a result of the measures
mentioned above.

To assure this high quality level, maintain the value of the vehicle and protect against corrosion, particularly with regard to maintaining the 10-year
warranty against body rust during repair painting, it is essential that only the paint materials listed in the Paint Guide and approved by Porsche are used.

These paint materials are perfectly matched and may not be replaced by other materials, even individual components, so as not to compromise on quality
and corrosion inhibition and to prevent processing difficulties. This includes exact adherence to the specified processing data, such as mix ratio, layer
thickness, viscosity, dryness, and so on because the quality of the overall paint finish depends on the quality of each individual intermediate layer.

The Paint Guide also presents the vehicle paint sprayer in the Porsche organization with information on the latest painting techniques, e.g. the blending
technique for avoiding unacceptable shade differences, and information on special procedures, which are essential for painting certain vehicle parts or
modern body materials.

Above all, the increasing use of different types of plastic on Porsche models requires exact adherence to the prescribed processing parameters, depending
on the characteristics of the plastic, and observance of the plastic-specific additional materials for paint build-up when it comes to selecting materials.
