All new parts inventory should be of the updated version. Modified parts can only be identified by the stamped production date (Figure 2, calendar
clock). The production date must be 03 (= year) 8 (-- month, marked by dot) or later.

Work Procedure:

Using a straight grinder, create a cutout for the brake pad on the brake pad support plate on both brakes of the rear axle. To do this, the wheel and the
brake disc must be removed.

1.

Put vehicle on the vehicle hoist, see Cayenne Technical Manual, Group 4, 4 Lifting the vehicle.

2.

Remove rear wheel on one side of vehicle, see Cayenne Technical Manual, Group 4, 44 05 19 - Removing and installing wheel.

3.

Remove the brake disc, see Cayenne Technical Manual, Group 4, 46 53 19 - Removing and installing rear brake disc.

4.

Work on the brake pad support plate.

4.1

Mark the brake pad support plate area to be removed using a scriber according to the dimensions in Figure 3.

Note:

The depth of 3.5 mm +1 corresponds to a width of approximately 4 mm +1, measured from the outer edge of the brake pad support plate.

4.2

Create the cutout on the brake pad support plate.

Caution!

Damage and corrosion to the running gear parts from grinding particles.

Shield the running gear parts around the area to be worked on - especially the brake caliper.
