Installing camshafts
Note:

Ensure that the bearing covers are correctly positioned and allocated (see work step 4)!

Turn the crankshaft to about 30° in front of the TDC cylinder 1 so that the valves and pistons are not damaged when the camshaft bearing caps are
being tightened!
1. Take fixing pin 9595/1 out of the bore in the crankshaft wheel. Using socket wrench insert 9714, turn the crankshaft until it is located 30° in front
of TDC cylinder 1.
2. Apply a layer of engine oil to running surfaces of camshaft bearings and bearing covers.
Note: Place the camshafts in such a way that the cams are in the following position!
3. Place camshafts. When doing so, pay particular attention to the way the cams are positioned in relation to each other.
