Before removing the control unit for the towbar, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.

Remove side-panel lining at rear right as described in the Technical Manual, Group 7, Chapter 70 03 19.

20.

Remove the towbar control unit according to the Technical Manual, Group 6, Chapter 66 96 19.

21.

Install a new control unit for the towbar, and code according to the vehicle configuration in accordance with the Technical Manual, Group 6,
Chapter 66 96 19.

Note:

After the towbar control unit has been replaced, the coding must be adapted to the vehicle configuration.

22.

Install side-panel lining at rear right as described in the Technical Manual, Group 7, Chapter 70 03 19.

23.

Enter the Service Action into the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
