Concerns:
Level control system, Fault Code 0003 "Control Unit Faulty" is stored in the fault memory of the level control system control unit

Information:
The Porsche System Tester 2 displays the fault code 0003 "Control Unit Faulty". There are two possible causes for this fault code.

1.

The control unit has a software problem which occurs during coasting (in other words, after the ignition is off), without displaying an error
message in the instrument cluster.

2.

The control unit is faulty.

Solution For Possible Cause:

Point 1 - Delete fault code.

or

Point 2 - Replace control unit.

Work Procedure:

For Point 1

If the fault code 0003 "Control Unit Faulty" is present when reading out the fault memory and the red warning light "Air suspension warning" is not
activated in the instrument cluster, the fault should be ignored.

Delete fault memory.

It is possible that the same fault code will be stored again. The fault code should also be ignored when re-entering if the red warning light "Air
suspension warning" is not activated in the instrument cluster.

Replacing the control unit because of the above-mentioned fault entry without an activated warning light in the instrument cluster is not permitted!

For Point 2

If the red warning light "Air suspension warning" is activated in the instrument cluster and the fault code 0003 is present in the control unit, the control
unit must be replaced.
