Parking lock cable holder

4. Bend down the tabs at the body guide.
5. Connect parking lock cable at the selector support.

Connecting parking lock cable

Note: The parking lock cable must only be connected without pretension.

5.1.

Insert parking lock cable into the bayonet lock -2- and lock the bayonet lock.

5.2.

Attach parking lock cable to the support and engage securely.

5.3.

Connect electric multiple plug connector -3-.

Function test

1. Move selector lever from position "P" to "D" and back again several times.
2. Check that the parking lock is disengaged.
2.1.

Insert ignition key into the ignition lock.

2.2.

Move selector lever to position "P". "P" appears in the instrument cluster.

2.3.

Actuate the operating brake.

2.4.

Start the engine.

2.5.

Move selector lever to position "D". "D" appears in the instrument cluster.

2.6.

Release the operating brake. If the vehicle moves forward, the test is complete. Otherwise, all connection pieces must be checked again.

3. Check that the parking lock is engaged (engine running).
3.1.

Insert ignition key into the ignition lock.

3.2.

Move selector lever to position "P". "P" appears in the instrument cluster.

3.3.

Actuate the operating brake.

3.4.

Start the engine.

3.5.

Release the operating brake. The vehicle must not move. If it does, the entire system must be checked.

3.6.

Switch off the engine.

4. Check that the parking lock is engaged (blocking effect).
4.1.

Insert ignition key into the ignition lock.

4.2.

Move selector lever to position "P". "P" appears in the instrument cluster.

4.3.

Move selector lever to position "N". "N" appears in the instrument cluster.

4.4.

Get another person to help you to push the vehicle for a distance of at least one metre. The vehicle must move. Otherwise, the entire system
must be checked.
