Symptom

The vehicle key is not recognised in the vehicle:
-> The error message "Key not recognised in vehicle" is displayed on the instrument cluster and
-> the vehicle will not start.

Causes and remedial action

Cause

If there is strong radio interference (from external transmitters) in certain areas, the transmission power of the vehicle key can be superimposed and its
function can be impaired.

Remedial action

Re-program the control unit for front-end electronics (BCM - Body-Control Module - front) using the PIWIS Tester II with test software version 2.200
(or higher) installed.
