Thermostat Housing: Service and Repair

Removing and installing housing for coolant regulator

Preliminary work

1. Remove cross panel.
2. Remove intake-air distributor.
3. Remove fuel distributor pipe.
4. Remove water pump.
5. Remove thermostat insert.

Removing coolant regulator housing

1. Disconnect the front coolant hoses from the two thermostat housing pipes.

Coolant hoses to radiator (illustration as example)

2. Disconnect small coolant pipe at the side -4-, pull it forward and set it aside. To do this, remove the screw -3- and pull off the pipe.

3 - Screw, M6 x 20
4 - Coolant return line
5 - Coolant return hose assembly
6 - Holder
7 - Screw, M6 (aluminum screw)
8 - Clip
