Component overview of wheel bearing

-1- - Wheel hub Pull off the inner race from the wheel bearing separately. Carry out a close visual inspection of the seat of the wheel hub. There
must not be scores, grooves or similar deformations on the hub.
-2- - Screw Use new screws.
-3- - Ring Circlip.
-4- - Wheel bearing The wheel bearing can no longer be used once it has been removed. Use a new wheel bearing. Do not press on the inner race.
Insert the wheel bearing with the magnetic multiple-pole ring in the direction of the drive shaft. Check the magnetic side (e.g. with a paper clip).
Do not use magnets or screwdrivers to check!
-5- - Wheel bearing housing Carry out a close visual inspection of the seat of the wheel bearing. There must not be scores, grooves or similar
deformations.

- Wheel speed sensor Should be inserted with Optitemp LG2 (25-ml spray can, Part No. 000.043.204.21).

Removing wheel hub

Make sure that all accessories (e.g. wheel speed sensor, cable holder) have been removed from the wheel bearing housing.

1. Fit the grip pieces T10205/1 and the bell T10205/2 around the wheel hub.

Position wheel bearing housing, grip pieces T10205/1, bell T10205/2, pressure piece VW 454, large ram

2. Screw the large ram into the workshop press. Insert the wheel bearing housing into the workshop press with the wheel hub facing downwards

-arrow-. Make sure that the bell T10205/2 lies flat and the wheel hub is able to extend freely into the bell.

3. Position the pressure piece VW 454 onto the wheel hub and center it -bottom arrow-.
