Rear Wheel Bearing Adjust

1.

Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheels.

2.

Remove grease cap, cotter pin and locknut plate, then loosen axle nut.

3.

torque axle nut to 25 ft.lbs. (3 N-m).

4.

Loosen nut 1/6 turn.

5.

Install dial indicator onto drum to measure endplay, Fig. 7.

6.

Adjust axle nut to obtain zero-.001 inch (0-.03 mm) on Renault 18i, Sportwagon and Fuego.

7.

Install nut lock plate and cotter pin. Place small amount of grease in grease cap and install into position.
