Providing starter motor operation has not been disabled by the alarm circuits, the starter relay will be energised. This will switch battery voltage from link 5 in the engine compartment fuse box on the N/S wire via the closed contacts of the starter relay to the starter motor on the N/R wire. Since one side of the starter motor and coil is already earthed, this will cause the starter motor solenoid to be energised, switching battery voltage on the R wire directly on to the starter motor terminal.
CIGAR LIGHTER OPERATION
With the ignition switched ON, battery voltage via fuse 18 in the passenger compartment fuse box being applied on the LG wire to the blower relay coil causing it to energise. The closed contacts of the relay, switches battery voltage from fuse 7 in the engine compartment fuse box on the P/S wire to the cigar lighter on the LG/P wire.
When the cigar lighter element is pushed into its holder, power is automatically switched through the locking clips to the heating coil, then via a B wire to earth. As current passes through the heating coil, it will heat up to the point where the locking clips expand and release the cigar lighter element. Power is removed from the heating coil as the element is partially ejected from its holder.
When the sidelights are switched on, battery voltage from fuse 8 in the passenger compartment fuse box is fed to the cigar lighter illumination bulb on the R/B wire. Earth is provided through the casing and a B wire.
CLOCK OPERATION
Fuse 3 in the passenger compartment fuse box provides permanent power on the P wire from the battery via links 6 and 3 in the engine compartment fuse box.
Fuse 1 in the passenger compartment fuse box provides power for the clock display on G wire when the ignition is switched ON.
When the sidelights are switched on, battery voltage from fuse 8 in the passenger compartment fuse box is fed to the clock illumination bulb on the R/B wire and the clock display will dim. Earth is provided on a B wire.
