NOTE: The motor that is not in use for the selected mirror has both input terminals connected together while the other motor is being driven. This provides regenerative braking for the undriven motor to prevent adjustment overrun during rapid switching between position modes.

Folding Mirrors

The folding mirror ECU is located in the lower A post on the driver’s side, and has a permanent power supply on the W/U wire from fuse M in the engine compartment fuse box. Earth return on the B wire.

To fold the mirrors the ignition must turned to position ’II’ and the folding mirror switch pressed once. This sends a signal to the ECU on the W/U wire. The mirrors are returned to their normal position by pressing the switch again. If power is lost during this operation the mirrors will complete their cycle before stopping. If the switch is pressed during an operation the mirrors will reverse direction.

Mirror Heating

The mirror heater is activated when the ignition switch is turned to position ’II’. Power from fuse 13 is switched to both heating elements; driver’s on B/Y & U/R wire, passenger’s on B/Y & U/R wire (automatic gearbox on B/U & U/R wire). The heaters are both earthed on B wire.
