Operation

Fusible link D in the engine compartment fuse box, supplies battery voltage on P wires to the main relay, the starter relay and the oxygen sensor relay in the multi-function relay unit.

When the ignition switch is turned to position ’II’, a voltage is fed to the MEMS ECM on a G/K wire, from fuse 24 in the passenger’s compartment fuse box. The MEMS ECM energises the main relay by providing an earth path via a W/K wire.

Power is fed through the main relay to the oxygen sensor relay and on N/K wires to the IACV, the purge valve, the ignition coil and to the injectors. Battery voltage is also supplied to the MEMS ECM on an N/K wire.

The four fuel injectors are grouped together and open when the MEMS control unit connects an earth path alternatively to the Y/U and Y/G wires, injectors 1 and 4 and injectors 2 and 3 respectively.
