Description and operationTilting the Sunroof

Power to the motor is reversed from the ’Open’ condition. Fuse 1 supplies a feed to sunroof relay 2 on a G wire. The energised relay provides a feed to the sunroof motor on a G/Y wire. The motor is connected to sunroof relay 1 by a G/R wire, which provides an earth on a B wire.

Tilting the Sunroof

When the tilt switch is pressed with the panel closed, the motor assembly micro-switches are over-ridden, Relay 2 is energised and the motor is powered in a similar way to that described in ’Closing the Sunroof’.

When the close switch is pressed with the panel in the tilt position, relay 1 is energised and the motor powered in a similar way to that described in ’Opening the Sunroof’. When the closed position is reached, power to the motor is removed.

When the open switch is pressed with the panel in the tilt position, the motor operates in just the same way as it does in ’Opening the Sunroof’.

NOTE: Discrimination between the tilt, closed and open positions of the sunroof, is determined by the position of microswitches, cams and latches in the track the panel slides in.
