Rear Screen Wash

When the rear wash/wipe switch is turned to either position 1 or 4 against the spring-loading, a supply is fed to the rear washer pump on a G/B wire. At the same time, a supply is sent to the MFU on the same G/B wire. The washer pump is earthed on a B wire.

Operation of the washer from either switch position, will cause the system to wipe continuously, whilst washing for as long as the switch is operated. When the switch is released, washing will cease but the wiper action will continue for 6 seconds (approximately 4 wipes). It will then revert to either the ON function or the OFF function, dependant on which position the switch returns to. In the OFF position, the wiper will return to the park position and stop, but in the ON position, it will continue to operate intermittently.

Automatic Rear Screen Wiper Operation

If reverse gear is selected while the front wipers are in operation, the MFU initiates a rear screen wipe sequence automatically.

Half a second after reverse gear engagement, the MFU operates the rear-screen wiper for 6 seconds, then enters the intermittent wipe sequence until reverse gear is disengaged. The rear-screen wiper will then park and stop.
