Tilting the Sunroof

When the tilt switch is pressed with the panel closed, the sunroof motor’s micro- switches are over-ridden, earth is provided via the G/U wire, sunroof switch, and a B wire to the coil of the sunroof close relay. The sunroof close relay energises and the motor is powered in a similar way to that described in ’Closing the Sunroof’. The panel will tilt upward.

When the close switch is pressed with the panel in the tilt position, earth is provided via a G/R wire, the sunroof motor’s micro-switch, G/Y wire, sunroof switch, and B wire to the coil of the sunroof open relay. The relay energises and the motor is powered in a similar way to that described in ’Opening the Sunroof’. When the fully ’Closed’ position is reached, the sunroof motor’s micro-switch opens and the earth supply to the coil of the sunroof open relay is interrupted. The relay deenergises and voltage is removed from the sunroof motor. When the open switch is pressed with the panel in the tilt position, the motor operates in just the same way as it does in ’Opening the Sunroof’.

NOTE: Discrimination between the tilt, closed and open positions of the sunroof, is determined by the position of micro-switches, cams and latches in the track that the panel slides in.
