3. Fit the spring and zinc washer. The lower end of the spring should abut against the stop in the bottom spring seat.
4. Fit the spring shim and mounting.

Make sure that the lower washer is fitted the right way round. Do this by making sure that the part no. marking is face down. Grasp the piston rod
and tighten the nut with socket 89 96 662. Remove Spring compressor 88 18 791 and Holder 88 18 809.

5. Position the MacPherson strut on the car and tighten the three retaining nuts on the top mounting. Tighten the nuts alternately.

Tightening torque: 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) 

6. Tighten the ball joint retaining nut.

Tightening torque: 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.).

7. Tighten the nut securing the anti-roll bar to the link arm.

Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.) 

8. Refit the back plate and brake disc.
