2. Screw the damper in place, using special tool No. 89 96 670, or equivalent.

Tightening torque: 215 Nm (158.7 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the coil spring in place. The lower end of the spring should abut against the stop in the bottom spring cup.
4. Install the upper spring seat (with the protruding lug positioned as shown) and the mounting in place. Make sure that the lower washer is fitted the

right way round (with the part No. facing downwards). Grip the piston rod and tighten the nut, using special tool No. 89 96 662, or equivalent.

5. Undo the spring press (part Nos. 8818 791 and 88 18 809, or equivalent).
