Downshift Switch: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Remove the left-hand side section of the centre console.
2. Fold up the carpet.
3. Gently work out the switch and pull it straight up (it is pressed in place on a sheet metal bracket).
4. Unplug the electrical connector.

Installing

1. Plug in the kick-down switch press it into place on the sheet metal bracket.

IMPORTANT:  It is important to make sure that the switch is pressed firmly into place on reassembly as the kickdown function will otherwise be
activated when the accelerator is in the wrong position. Apply a little silicone spray to facilitate fitting.

2. Install the carpet back in place.
3. Install the side section back in place.
4. Check/adjust the kick-down function.
