Power Steering Fluid Reservoir: Service and Repair

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Bracket Replacement (ZF)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (ZF)   (See: Power Steering Pump/Service and Repair)Power

Steering Pump Replacement (TRW)   (See: Power Steering Pump/Service and Repair).

2. Remove the bracket from the steering fluid reservoir.

Remove the 3 nuts (1) and (2).

Note:  Do not rethread the studs on the reservoir.

3. Remove the 3 rubber bearings.

Remove the rubber bearings using a suitable tool.

4. Clean the thread in the steering fluid reservoir.

Installation Procedure

Note:  Pay attention for different lengths of rubber bearings.

1. Install rubber bearings to the steering fluid reservoir.

1. Install the 3 rubber bearings using a suitable tool.
2. Insert screw locking compound.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Attach bracket to the steering fluid reservoir.

Tighten the 3 nuts to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).

3. Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (ZF)   (See: Power Steering Pump/Service and Repair)Power
