Removal Procedure
1. Remove the axle shaft affected from transmission. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (See: Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft
Assembly/Service and Repair).
Important: Place a drip pan underneath, transmission fluid will escape. Axle shaft remains in wheel hub.
2. Remove the affected axle shaft seal ring with KM-557-A (2) and KM-446 (1) from transmission housing.
