Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Oil Baffle Replacement
OIL BAFFLE REPLACEMENT
(IN-VEHICLE)
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL
INJURY WHEN A VEHICLE IS ON HOIST, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHICH
COMPONENTS ARE BEING REMOVED. MAKE SURE HOIST DOES NOT CONTACT FUEL OR BRAKE LINES.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Drain engine oil.
4. Remove oil pan.
5. Remove oil pan baffle bolts.
6. Remove oil pan baffle.
7. Clean following components:

Clean oil pan.
-
Clean oil pan housing.
-
Clean gasket surfaces.
INSTALLATION
1. Install oil pan baffle.
2. Install oil pan baffle bolts.
Torque:
Oil Pan Baffle Bolt: 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
IMPORTANT: Application of RTV and oil pan alignment is critical.
