Unit Repair Suspension Strut

Removal

1. Remove rear window trim finish panel. (Refer to Body and Frame.)

CAUTION:  MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST. TO HELP AVOID
PERSONAL INJURY, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE VEHICLE THAT COMPONENTS
WILL BE REMOVED FROM.    

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.
3. Remove wheels corresponding to the strut being replaced.
4. Loosen the two strut-to-knuckle fasteners. Leave fasteners in place.

5. Lower vehicle to a level that a floor jack can be placed under the rear knuckle. Raise floor jack high enough to support the knuckle.

6. Remove and discard the three strut assembly-to-body attachment fasteners.
7. Slowly raise the hoist, lowering the strut assembly from the body.
