SW2 L4-1.9L DOHC VIN 7 (1997)
7. Using mark on the slider as a reference point, push park lock cable assembly toward control base assembly, moving slider 1.25 mm (0.049 in.).
IMPORTANT: A feeler gage can be used to obtain the 1.25 mm (0.049 in.) gap.
8. When correct gap is obtained, depress lock tab on adjustable park lock cable assembly.
IMPORTANT: When lock tab is set, the slider position may change slightly.
9. Perform "Park Lock Cable Assembly Operation Inspection."
10. If automatic transaxle park lock cable does not pass inspection procedure, repeat steps 4 through 9 of the "Park Lock Cable Assembly Adjustment"
procedure until it is properly adjusted.
IMPORTANT: If ignition key cannot be turned to the lock position, lift up lock tab on park lock cable assembly. Push park lock cable assembly
towards control base assembly until ignition key can be turned to the LOCK position. Refer to steps 4 through 9 of the "Park Lock Cable
Assembly Adjustment."
11. When park lock cable assembly is correctly adjusted, install front cup holder/ashtray assembly into console.
2. Perform "Park Lock Cable Assembly Operation Inspection."
