Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY 

REPLACEMENT 

NOTE:  When disconnecting the battery terminal, initialize the following system after the terminal is reconnected.

System 
Power window control system
Sliding roof system

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FLOOR PANEL BRACE FRONT  
3. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY CENTER  
4. REMOVE FUEL TANK PROTECTOR NO.1  
5. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION BRACE LOWER RH 
6. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY

a. Disconnect the leak detection pump connector.
b. Disconnect the fuel emission hose and clamp.

c. Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose.

1. Pinch the retainer and pull out the fuel tank vent connector with the fuel tank vent connector pushed to the pipe side to disconnect the fuel

tank vent hose from the charcoal canister.

NOTE: 
-

Remove dirt or foreign objects on the fuel tank vent connector before this work.

Do not allow any scratches or foreign objects on the parts when disconnecting as the fuel tank vent connector has the O-ring that seals the
