INSTALLATION
1. INSPECT COMPRESSOR OIL
a. When replacing the compressor with a new one, after gradually removing the refrigerant gas from the service valve, drain the following
amount of oil from the new compressor before installation.
Standard amount: (Oil capacity inside new compressor and magnetic clutch: 60 + 15 cc (2.0 + 0.5 fl. oz.) ) - (Remaining oil amount in the
removed compressor and magnetic clutch) = (Oil amount to be removed when replacing)
NOTE:
-
When checking the compressor oil level, observe the precautions for cooler removal/ installation.
-
Since compressor oil remains in the pipes of the vehicle, do not install a new compressor without removing some oil from the vehicle.
Excessive oil prevents heat exchange in the refrigerant cycle and causes refrigerant failure.
-
If the remaining oil in the removed compressor and magnetic clutch is too low, check for oil leakage.
-
Be sure to use ND-OIL 8 or equivalent for compressor oil.
2. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
3. INSTALL COMPRESSOR WITH PULLEY ASSEMBLY
a. Install the compressor with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 25 N.m (255 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Tighten the bolts in the order shown in the illustration to install the compressor.
b. Connect the connector.
4. CONNECT SUCTION HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the hose and condenser.
b. Apply a sufficient amount of compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the compressor.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
c. Install the O-ring on the suction hose.
d. Connect the suction hose on the compressor with the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
