SUSPENSION: REAR SHOCK ABSORBER: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

HINT:
-

Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

The procedures listed below are the LH side.

1. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 SPRING BUMPER

(a) Install the rear No. 1 spring bumper onto the rear shock absorber.

2. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY

(a) Support the spring seat of the rear axle beam assembly using a jack and wooden block.

NOTICE:  Do not excessively jack up the rear axle beam assembly.

(b) Temporarily tighten the rear shock absorber assembly to the rear axle beam assembly with the bolt and nut.
(c) Slowly raise the jack and insert the upper part of the rear shock absorber to the installation hole.

HINT:  Support the rear shock absorber assembly at a position where it compresses by approximately 20 to 30 mm (0.78 to 1.18 in.).

3. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION SUPPORT

(a) Install the rear suspension support.

NOTICE:  Make sure that the rear suspension support is correctly installed as shown in the illustration.
