Differential: dismounting and assembling > < Dismounting

Assembly
–  Lubricate the retainer properly.
   
–  Using tool -U-40091-, attach the retainer.
  Note!
Tool -U-40091- has different diameters for assembling different retainers. Selector the most appropriate.
–  Assemble the coupling flange together with the spring, the thrust washer and the tapered ring.

t  Don't get the left and right coupled flanges mixed up. They are not interchangeable.

–  Assemble the securing screw for the coupling flange. Use tool -T20005-.
t  Tightening torque: 25 Nm
–  Mount the drive train on the gearbox flange.
t  Use a spanner with a suitable diameter from tool -U-40020-.
t  Tightening torque: 45 Nm
Retainer for right coupling flange:
–  Assemble the counterweight to the bracket holder.
t  Position for assembly: According to the mark made for the dis mounting. If no mark has been made, the counterweight must be assembled on the unit holder so that the greatest distance bet ween the edge of the counterweight and the securing screws is facing forwards.
–  Check the oil level in the gearbox → Chapter.
–  Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
