Cleaning norms when working in the gearbox
Cleaning norms when working in the gearbox
t  Thoroughly clean unions and adjacent areas before removing.
t  Place removed parts on a clean surface and cover. Use foil or paper. Use only lint-free cloths.
t  Carefully cover or store opened components if repairs cannot be carried out immediately.
t  Only fit clean parts: only remove replacement parts from packaging immediately prior to installation.
t  Always install new O-rings, oil seals and gaskets.
t  To fit the O-rings, apply ATF or Vaseline so that the joints are not crushed or pinched during the installation.
t  In general, only ATF should be used in the ATF areas. Other lubricants may cause irregularities in the operation of the hydraulic gearbox mechanism.
t  After fitting, the following levels must be checked and topped up if necessary: ATF in the planetary gears → Chapter.
