–
First check whether a coded radio is fitted. If so, obtain anti-theft code.
–
With ignition switched off, disconnect battery earth strap.
–
Remove air duct trim

Remove battery trim

Pull connector off coolant expansion tank.
–
Unbolt coolant expansion tank and place to side. Do not open cooling system.

Remove battery and battery tray
→ Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27

Remove ABS hydraulic unit
→ ABS system; Rep. Gr.45
.
–
Place lint-free cloth in engine compartment below supply hose to brake fluid reservoir.

Clamp off supply hose

to brake fluid reservoir with hose clamp -3094-.

Pull clip
-A-
for pipe/hose line out of master cylinder
-arrow-

Pull pipe/hose line
-B-
out of master cylinder and seal openings.

To remove pipe/hose line

, pry clip
-B-
out in direction of arrow to stop using a screwdriver.

Only then can pipe/hose line be pulled out of breather connection of slave cylinder

Vehicles with turbo diesel engine
–
Remove fuel filter
-A-
from retainer and lay to side without loosening connections
→ Rep. Gr.20

Continuation for all vehicles
–
Pull pipe/hose line out of supports on flange on master brake cylinder

and on gearbox
-2-
and remove (shown in figure without ABS unit).
