Removing
Removing
–  Raise vehicle.
–  Remove noise insulation beneath engine/gearbox → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.50.
   
–  Unscrew nuts -arrows- for swivel joints on suspension links.

–  Remove left drive shaft from gearbox → Running gear, axles, steering; Rep. gr.40 and attach to anti-roll bar -A-.

–  Remove retaining ring -arrow A- and O-ring -arrow B- from stub shaft.

–  Unscrew securing bolt for right stub shaft -arrow- after locking the right stub shaft using the counterhold tool -T10371-.
–  Place drip tray under the engine.
–  Pull out stub shaft.
–  Remove the stub shaft seal using the multipurpose tool -VW 771- and the extractor -VW 771/37-.
