Replace the seal ring for lever of selector rod shaft > < Gear oil pump: dismounting and assembly

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Extractor tool -T20143-
  W00-2958
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
–  Remove selector lever cable from gearbox.
  W00-0427
–  Carefully pry lever -A- off selector shaft.
  N34-10507
–  Remove seal by levering with extractor -T20143/1-.
–  Lightly oil outer circumference of oil seal.
–  Pack space between sealing lip and dust lip half-full with sealing grease -G 052 128-.

–  Drive in new seal onto stop (take care to keep seal straight).
  N34-10509
–  Set lever in place and tighten to 20 Nm.
Selector shaft lever fits on splines in only one position.
–  Install selector lever cable in the gearbox and adjust.
