Removing and installing door retaining strap
Removing and installing door retaining strap
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Torque wrench -V.A.G 1331-
  Note
Removal and installation are only described for the left door retaining strap. Removal and installation on the right side of the vehicle are similar.
Removal
  W00-0427
Carry out following work:
–  If fitted, remove window crank → Chapter.
–  Remove front door trim → General body repairs, interior; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove self-adhesive cover or front loudspeaker → Communication; Rep. gr.91.
–  Unscrew bolt -5- in A-pillar.
–  Unscrew bolts -2- and remove door retaining strap -1- through the opening of the loudspeaker -arrow a-.

Installation
   
Carry out following work:
Install in reverse order of removal.
Specified torque for bolt -2-: 30 Nm.
Specified torque for bolts -3- 9 Nm.
