Release unit of the folding backrest: Removing and installing
Release unit of the folding backrest: Removing and installing
removing
–  Mount the holder for seat repair -VAS 6136- on the engine and gearbox jack -VAS 6095-.
–  Remove front seat → Chapter.
–  Fasten seat on seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove front belt buckle → Chapter.
–  Remove trim on tunnel side → Chapter.
–  Remove trim on sill side → Chapter.
–  Remove backrest → Chapter.
–  Mount backrest on seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove the adjustment lever of the lumbar support → Chapter.
–  Remove folding table on backrest → Chapter.
–  Remove front seat backrest cover and padding → Chapter.
   
–  Cut through the right and left leverage arms -arrows- of the release unit, e.g. with oblique cutting pliers.
–  Remove remains of release unit -1- and -2- from backrest frame.

Installation
–  Insert release unit into the corresponding mountings in the backrest frame.
