Removing and installing backrest cover and padding
Removing and installing backrest cover and padding
Removing
–  Attach seat repair stand -VAS 6136- to engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-.
–  Remove seat → Chapter.
–  Fasten seat on seat repair stand -VAS 6136-.
–  Remove head restraint.
–  Remove backrest mechanism trims → Chapter.
–  Remove backrest → Chapter.
–  Remove backrest cover → Chapter.
   
–  Detach upper section -7-.
–  Detach upper tensioning wire -arrows-.
–  Detach sections -5- and -6-.
–  Detach side sections -4-.
–  Roll backrest cover -2- and padding -1- up over the head restraint guides.
–  Fold backrest cover and padding away from backrest frame and detach lower section -3-.
–  Roll backrest cover off the padding until the padding clips are accessible.
–  Cut through all padding clips and remove cover from padding.

Installing
–  Install in reverse order of removal.
  Note
Use padding clip pliers -V.A.G 1634- to fit padding clips.
