Removing and installing seat occupied sensor
Removing and installing seat occupied sensor
  Note
The seat occupied sensor, front passenger side -G128- is only installed in the front passenger seat.
Removal
  WARNING
t  Observe safety regulations for pyrotechnic components → Chapter.
t  Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. separating the electrical connector), the person handling them must ensure that he/she is „electrically discharged“. for example by briefly grasping hold of door striker plate.
–  Disconnect battery earth cable with ignition switched on → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove front seat → Chapter.
–  Remove front belt buckle → Chapter.
–  Remove trims on seat → Chapter.
–  Remove front seat backrest → Chapter.
–  Remove seat cover and cushion from seat pan → Chapter.
   
–  Unclip clips -1- from seat frame.
–  Remove seat occupied sensor -3- with circuit board -3- from seat frame.

Installation
  WARNING
t  Observe safety regulations for pyrotechnic components → Chapter.
t  Before handling pyrotechnic components (e.g. connecting the electrical connector), the person handling them must ensure that he/she is „electrically discharged“. for example by briefly grasping hold of door striker plate.
Install analogously in reverse order, but note the following:

Make sure electrical connectors are correctly fitted and engage with a click.
  WARNING
The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (e.g. airbag or belt tensioner) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle while you are connecting the battery.
–  Connect battery earth cable with ignition switched on → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
  Note
If airbag warning lamp -K75- indicates a fault following installation, event memory must be read, cleared and read again → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
